Today, a horrifying video surfaced of a man being dragged off a SEPTA bus by no fewer than seven cops because he wasn't wearing a mask. Here's the video
This is a hideous and violent response by the Philadelphia Police to our public health crisis. We're urging our membership to contact both SEPTA GM Leslie Richards and PPD commissioner Danielle Outlaw to condemn this action

{ "name": "" } org@phillytru.org gmideas@septa.org,police.commissioner@phila.gov idea: police should not pull transit riders off of buses I'm a member of the Philadelphia Transit Riders Union and I'm horrified by this video of Philadelphia Police assaulting a man for riding SEPTA without a mask: https://twitter.com/phillyTRU/status/1248656214642262016 I care deeply about safe transit for both riders and workers, and masks are an important safety measure. But this violent enforcement by the Philadelphia Police is the worst possible response and makes us all less safe. Philadelphia Police should be handing out masks, not assaulting transit riders. Philly Transit Riders Union demands immediate action from both SEPTA and PPD to address the behavior of the officers in this video and to ensure that nothing like this happens ever again.
